The Chief Constable is seeking to appoint suitably qualified and experienced senior police officers who have the passion to serve the diverse communities of Greater Manchester and who have the drive and enthusiasm to deliver efficient, high levels of performance. Applications are welcome from Inspectors looking to transfer on promotion, or those already at Chief Inspector rank looking for a greater challenge.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) is the fourth largest police force in the UK covering 500 square miles and is made up of both urban and rural communities. GMP deals with more priority incidents relative to population than any other force.
At a time of unprecedented change for policing, Greater Manchester Police are looking for officers who have the potential to challenge and lead change and who can build effective relationships with partner agencies to deliver strong collaboration.
The successful applicants will work alongside the force leadership team to make GMP a better organisation, both in the way we treat each other and in the service we deliver to the public based on the 5 principles of the force’s Target Operating Model (TOM).
You will be a driven senior officer who is able to plan, manage and monitor complex front line and/ or specialist policing activity. You will have a proven track record of effectively and efficiently managing large teams, competing demands and prioritises, and of making informed decisions. You will have a strong commitment to and the highest respect for diversity amongst your colleagues and the communities you will serve. You will be a strong and supportive leader and have the ability to motivate and inspire others.
